Its that time of the year again to set some New Year resolutions. To be honest, I do not even know why am I doing this. In the 20 years that I have known myself, I have never actually fulfilled any of them. I'm really hoping that 2014 will be different and that I can stick to my resolutions for once.
1. Take opportunities
I don't think a lot of people know this about me, but I suffer from anxiety issues, and it can sometimes be very bad. In 2013, I've stopped myself from going to places and events for fear of the crowd, I've let many opportunities slip by me because I was afraid, I've even gone so far as to stay away from taking the trains. I hate living like that and I want to change it. So 2014 will be a year I say "YES" to things. Do you want to go for this event? YES. Do you want to go to this place? YES. Do you want to try this? YES. YES, YES, YES! It's definitely going to be difficult and there might be times I will say no, but I'll not let one setback stop me from saying YES the next time. I will just keep trying.
2. Eat clean
In the past, I've always put losing weight as one of my resolutions, and we all know that it's not going to happen. So this year, I've decided to focus on eating clean instead. I want to eat more fruits and vegetables and choose foods that are clean, meaning that it's not modified or that I know exactly what's inside. I do believe that as long as you eat clean, your weight will take care of itself.
3. Travel more
I was very lucky last year to get to go overseas twice and on both trips, I've enjoyed myself a whole lot. Whilst I really loving going overseas, I know that its not going to happen this year because I'm graduating from polytechnic soon and I need to start working. Therefore when I say travel, I do not just refer to overseas trips but also travelling to and exploring the different parts of Singapore. Although Singapore is a very small country, I must admit that there are still many places I've yet to visit and I hope I get the opportunity to do that this year.
4. Read more
These are just some of the many books I've bought in 2013 and have yet to find the time to read. Thinking back, I used to be so much of a bookworm. I would have a book everywhere I went and I loved visiting the library to borrow books after books. Somehow, as the years go by, other things start to take priority over my book reading, things that aren't even that important. I'm going to start slow and set myself the goal of reading at least one book a month.
I wanted to set more resolutions but I doubt I will make that happen, so let's just stick with four first. Haha. Do you have any New Year resolutions? If you do, let's all work hard towards our resolutions.
